For sashiko and all hand sewing, beeswax has long been used to strengthen and smooth natural fibers. A few passes across the wax helps calm flyaways, reduce tangling, and support more consistent stitching.
For deeper absorption, gently press waxed thread with a warm iron through a cloth—allowing the wax to move into the core of the fiber.
